• The Tennessee chapter of the AATF received one of two large chapter awards for Outstanding Chapter of the Year at the AATF annual convention in Atlanta in July of 2004. • Enrollment in Tennessee in the National French Contest (Le Grand Concours) continues to be strong, with more than 2,800 students participating in 2008, ranking our chapter ninth in the nation. • A Memphis area student from Houston High School placed third nationally in the 2007 Concours National of the Alliance Française. • Dr. Will Thompson of The University of Memphis is completing his three-year term as national Vice-President of the AATF in 2008. · Rachel Markovitz, French teacher at Ridgeway High School in Memphis received an AATF Scholarship to participate in the AATF pre-conference experience in Switzerland and in Belgium in Summer 2008. · Betsy Taylor of Franklin received a professional growth scholarship from Alpha Delta Kappa which will enable her to participate in the AATF Conference in Liège, Belgium. |
