TENNESSEE CHAPTER

•            Enrollment in Tennessee in the National French Contest (Le Grand Concours) continues to be strong, with more than 2,900 students participating in 2010, ranking our chapter tenth in the nation.

 

•            A Memphis area student from Houston High School has been awarded a study abroad trip to France in July 2010 as the winner of the Memphis Alliance Française’s annual essay competition.

 

•            Dr. Will Thompson of The University of Memphis is currently in his second term as national Vice-President of the AATF for 2009-2011.

 

· Rachel Markovitz, French teacher at Ridgeway High School in Memphis received an AATF Scholarship to participate in the AATF pre-conference experience in Switzerland and in Belgium in Summer 2008.

 

· Betsy Taylor of Franklin received a professional growth scholarship from Alpha Delta Kappa which enabled her to participate in the AATF Conference in Liège, Belgium in 2008.
